JVDS FreeBSD Server Guide
Images
We supply a variety of images for our FreeBSD servers. These include:
» Base Image: This is just the base system and the ports tree ready to be customized according to your specifications.
» Server Image: This sets up your VPS to run as a web, dns or email server out-of-the-box. It also comes with basic development tools such as ruby and gcc.
» Java Image: A specially designed image which has JDK 1.4 pre-installed and ready to be used.
Accessing
All our servers can be accesed via SSH which is enabled by default. After signing up, you will be sent an email containing the access details including all needed passwords.
Controlling the Server
Our servers have the ability of being rebooted using the command: "touch /reboot". Upon issuance of this command, the host machine will then reboot the machine within a minute.
